Andrew is a founding partner in Ramsay Black, founder of the JAB Group of companies and operates as the Chief Executive. An awarding winning entrepreneur, he has over 17 years’ experience in establishing, running and managing international businesses. Andrew has lived, worked and established businesses in Canada, Norway, USA and Australia. Andrew is a well-regarded figure in both the energy and recruitment industries globally.
Andrew has advised and continues to work with government agencies on trade and investment in Canada, USA and Scotland. He is a graduate of both The Robert Gordon University and University of Abertay Dundee with a Bachelor of Science and Post Graduate Diploma. Andrew also works at board level with several non-profit initiatives most with an aim to identify the next generation or business leaders and entrepreneurs.
Andrew continues to work with clients and various assignments and strives to make Ramsay Black the leading executive search brand.
A founding partner of RAMSAY BLACK, Chris has expert global knowledge of the energy markets and
is a highly respected figure within the UK Oil and Gas search industry. Chris is a 15-year expert
Energy professional with a resume that includes the successful completion of global executive search
campaigns with some of the world’s largest operators and service companies. Chris possesses a
professional network that straddles all International Energy hubs including; Europe, Africa, Middle-
East, Americas, Asia-Pacific & Far-East.
Educated at Merchiston Castle School, Edinburgh and a MA
(Hons) graduate of Heriot-Watt University, Chris had a unique background prior to founding RAMSAY
BLACK. On graduation, Chris signed for Glasgow Warriors as a full-time Professional Rugby Player
spending four seasons with the Club competing in the European Champions Cup. Chris now lives
with his wife and two children in the famous golfing town of Carnoustie, Scotland. In his spare time
Chris helps coach his son’s rugby team.
Andrew is the Non-Executive Chairman and a key founder and investor in Ramsay Black.
As a graduate accountant he trained in the ‘Oil and Gas’ division of Arthur Andersen before joining a world leading specialist recruitment group. He subsequently founded and established, as CEO and Chairman, the leading independent recruitment and solutions, support services and media group in Scotland and Northern England, which he sold in 2000.
He has a wide range of private enterprise and investment activity interests both in the UK and Internationally, including private equity /venture capital, Fund Management and Charities where he has held/holds lead advisory, Executive/Non-executive Board roles and has had significant involvement in government employment initiatives, education and youth development.
His passion, knowledge and expertise provides invaluable support to Ramsay Black and the wider JAB Group. Andrew’s goal is to support Ramsay Black deliver on their enduring dedication, hard work, professionalism and desire to accomplish great things.
